This roll top was made for a christmas gift for a friend of ours and his wife. They were missionaries for 13 years and now he is an Associate Pastor at a nearby church. I had promised him a desk 4 years ago but never came through. I truly hope this has made up for the long wait. The desk was made cherry and the tambour is utilizing canvas and contact cement. In the future I think I will consider purchasing the router bit set to do the tambour.

Nice desk, I like the hidden keyboard feature. I prefer more rounded sides on the top, but yours looks very good.

I really like this and you are way more acomplished than me but i will say one thing i think the top looks to heavy for the bottom in the last pic but that maybe the angle it was taken

Matt: I think it’s cherry.
This is a beautiful piece, and a great job of marrying an old style with new technology.
I think—if I were bitter about having to wait four years—I’d probably get over it, once I saw the desk :-)
