This is my wife Maureen’s Christmas present. We looked over a number of designs, picked out the features we she wanted, and then I designed this hutch. Along with the wine rack below, it has some wine glass holders behind the upper apron. It is made of solid mahogany with some mahogany plywood. It is finished with rubbed on polyurethane, sanded after two coats, steel wool rubbed after three coats and then a coat of wax. It took me about 9 weeks, part time.

Beautiful design and execution. I would not have guessed mahogany with all of the color and grain in this piece. Your wife must be quite pleased.

Nice! My first guess was walnut but that is nice mahogany and a fine choice for the piece.
