Queen size Cherry bed built for my Granddaughter.
The design and finish is her choosing. She did challenge my ability with some of the detail. Not having a molder or large Shafer I did the large coves on my Tabled saw added the bead I had shaped on my Router table.
The post is solid Cherry the panels float inside their grooves, while the outside joining the post is set in a ¾” dado groove and pinned in place. The scrolls on each post is doweled from behind and braded to the post.
The color is Min- wax English Chestnut followed with a lacquer sander sealer and top coated with several coats of clear Satin Lacquer. Wet sanded with 500 grit wet / dry paper between coats. Polish and buff for the finish. There is a matching Dresser in the Shop fourth coming.
