Hi Everyone

(One expert advise me I should show my work here as well, already under the Forums section…)

I made this wooden wall clock from the root parts of a dead Wild Olive tree, that grew in South Africa’s Highveld region and are speculated to have been more than 300 years old when it eventually died.

First of all I made lots of small blocks from the root branches. I then glued it painstakingly together, night after night, with one peace at a time.

The whole project took me several weeks to complete.

The clock’s dimensions is as follows: It is 3 cm thick and about 31 cm in diameter.

The little red part in the upper part is a hole, which I still intend on making, maybe a small red butterfly there,

with glossy red paint?

Enjoy.

Pieter

N.S. These type of projects takes way too much time to sell and thus I only made it to enjoy myself. It now hangs proudly in my sleeping room.

Beuatiful clock. Wood itself looks extraordinary.

Thanks Majuvla

Wild Olive wood (root wood) is highly sought after by knife makers for knife handles in South Africa and I ques elsewhere as well?

And now I know why…
