These are a few projects that I did for my Dad and step Mom for Christmas this year. These are both first attempts. The first one is a routed bowl (woodwhisperer and wood magazine inspired). I used mahogany for the bowl. The cutting board is cherry. My father was able to tell what the wood was by looking at it. They were both very impressed. I plan on making more of these. I had originally done 2 bowls, this was the 1st attempt, the 2nd the side exploded while routing. That scared the hell out of me. I still have all my body parts intact. The Rockler bench cookies work well for this.
Enjoy

Hi Rick,
Very nice.
What type of finish did you put on it?
I have heard a lot of good things about the Rockler bench cookies. Maybe I should put them on my Christmas list.

Hi Rick,
I know people say the TS is most dangerous potential for an accident in the shop, but like you I have had my share of router explosions and tearouts that have scared the heck out of me.
Hey, it is only the 17th, whats the story on them having seen them? How are they going to believe in Santa?
Steve.
