The cheap plastic cover broke on my doorbell and I could not find anything nice to replace it so I build my own. This cover is made from black cherry.

My design was inspired by the project I found on Lumberjocks.com made by flossy http://lumberjocks.com/projects/57497.

No comments? 6 favorites and DT3 says more than words could! Great idea. Nicely done.

Thanks! I looked everywhere to buy a new doorbell I liked. Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon etc. I didn’t find anything reasonable so I built one.

Simple, clean lines and box joints if I’m seeing it clearly. Very nice.

I built a doorbell cover as well and I’m amazed at how many people notice it and comment on how nice it looks. Which is then followed by “I wish I could find something like that.” and then the pitch “Could you make one for me?”

That is funny. That is exactly what happened to me when my wife posted a picture of it to Facebook.
