I made an improved design of my scrap 2×4 reindeer. I posted this pic as an edit in the project that I did last year but this one looks so different that I figured I’d post it as a new project. I like this one so much more that I think the last reindeer I did look pretty stupid now. Here is a blog about doing these in sketchup.
oops! bad link… I fixed it now.

Ray,
I have a pattern it is a sketchup and you are welcome to it. The problem is the servers here at work block me from uploading to the google 3d warehouse so I will not be able to upload it until sometime tonight. You can do a 1:1 scale print from sketchup and the printout wraps around a 2×4. Just spritz on some 3m spray glue and stick it on and off to the band saw you go. If you are not a sketchup user you can have this.

I don’t know an easy way to accurately scale a picture so sketchup is really the way to go here. Thanks for the comments guys. If you make one of these please add a picture of it to this project as a comment.

That’s sweet.
I just right clicked on your picture above and selected “Save Picture as”. Then I just played with the scaling in my picture editor until the deers antlers were about 1.5 inches across.
I’ll see if I can cut one out, but I don’t know if I have a small enough bandsaw blade.

Very Nice – I may have to try to knock one or two of these out this weekend for some last-minute gifts. Thanks for the plans!

I was at the wood working show in Dallas a couple of months ago and saw this guy knock out one of these in about a minute, here is a cool video,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXW55S4X9zo&NR=1&feature=fvwp, I think he has had a little practice.

Thanks for the kind feedback boys and girls. If any of you kids make one of these from my pattern or even your own pattern please leave us a picture/link to your project on this thread ok? It will be fun to see a bunch of them in the same place.
Merry Christmas
