This is some soft Maple I got last year. It had a very unique blister figure. The bowl is 3×7. Color scheme is black, red, orange followed by many coats of wipe on poly. I did something different this time. I wet sanded the 2nd to last coat with 6000 micro mesh then applied the last coat. I like how it turned out.

Toyguy I agree with you but the figure doesn’t pop as well with a muted finish.

You could also say it gives a lacquered look to it.

Terry, great finish work!, You use a lot of wipe on poly, what type of pre finish does it require, or what is your technique? I use alot of sanding sealer, with a finish of waterlox, sanding inbetween with 1000 grit, last coat sand with 1200, than beal buff. works great! But I love the finish youve applied.
