It came out great.
I have a chunk of pine burl but it has so much pitch it is hard to finish out. Sand paper fills up with pitch in a flash. I have made one small bowl and only had to burnish the pitch in to produce a finish.
I know outdoorsmen like to use it as a fire starter because the pitch burns so easily.

Thanks Les
Try a good heavy cleaning with denatured alcohol. It will help remove the pitch.

The grain patterns are really attractive. I have to admit that I would not have expected such a nice bowl to come from piece of pine.

Thanks RichCMD, I was also not expecting much because it’s pine, but it really turned out to have very nice figure in it.

Have your say...
