TV stand based on painting easel

This was built for a friend who needed a stand for a large and very heavy plasma TV. She suggested some sort of easel so this is my design based on that. The base can move inside the frame and is held at height by some turned pegs.

Construction is mostly through tenons and domino loose tenons, it’s made of Alder, which isn’t the most robust, but it fit the budget.

Definitely a fun build, something different.

Great design for the artistic couch potato tv watcher.
I like the idea of the wheels on it because sometimes the sun hits mine right in the middle of an afternoon football game and I can’t move it or easily block the sun. LOL
