A couple of weeks ago Canadian Tire has 3ft lit Christmas trees on sale and DW wanted a couple for the outside. Luckily for us they were all sold out by the time I got there. However we still wanted some exterior decorations.

Sunday morning with axe and bucksaw in hand we trudge through the snow looking for a couple of felled logs and some twigs. We found a selection and dragged them home. I’ll let the pictures tell the story. It was a fun project.

Blunt axe + frozen wood = electric chain saw

Can you get it to bob its head up and down??? Always looks better than the plug-in type and the price is right!

Ah, that’s so much better than some pre-fabricated store-bought thingy. Actually, they’re pretty cool. And I really liked your equation that resulted in a chain saw. Good math in my book.

I made a couple of these many years back. Nice to see someone else making them too!
