I built this rustic wedding arbor for my nieces upcoming wedding. They are doing a laid back country rustic theme, so this should fit in well. They will be married under this arbor in late May. The arbor sits on concrete footings and is strapped down (straps are on the backside of the legs, so you can’t see them). I notched some of the pieces, so the fit together nicely, and then for some of the other pieces that I assembled onsite, I didn’t notch them. I used galvanized 3 inch screws, countersunk so you can’t see them. I think I will treat it with something to protect it, but i’m not sure what I will use. The oak, maple, and ash won’t last too long outside untreated. Here is a link to my video of the build.
