Wooden portrait a lady at my day job wanted me to do for her daughter. It is a picture of her daughter and boy friend. I used paint shop pro to turn the photo into a pattern then used 1/8” birch plywood to cut it out. Laid black felt behind it. I used some some clear pine to make the frame for it and bought a cheap 8×10 frame to get the glass. Finished to the pine frame with clear semi-gloss spray lacquer and a coat of wax.

First you cut out the background of the image… then you play with brightness and contrast controls. It takes a little bit to get it right, then decrease the colors to 2, black and white. Some where on the internet I have seen a program made just for doing this. I am guessing it is easier to use than my method. I think it is called Coyote Stencil Shop

Nice work. I have been learning to make the patterns. I haven’t cut any yet.
Keep up the good work.
