Not bad for a quick project. I got the idea from a commercially available product that costs $379 for the set of two. (Found it on Amazon for $319.)
I was going to make the hooks myself out of pewter since I’m already in the pewter casting business with my side business but I didn’t have the time so I bought them from Amazon. They were $44.35 for 10 hooks. Not too bad but still pricey.
I used one 1”x8”x10’ poplar board from Lowes, cost: $35.28. Pine was cheaper but only slight so.
The slides costs $33.98 for 2 sets at Home Depot. Adding $5 for miscellaneous things like screws and glue the project cost $118.59!
I designed it, as I do most projects, “on the fly”. In other words, without plans.
By luck more than skill, the 1 board was as close to the exact amount as you can get. I only had a few small cutoffs leftover. Better to be lucky than good sometimes!
