The kids were making more artwork then the refrigerator could handle. My wife and I wanted a rustic looking frame that reminded us of a farm’s cloths line. so this is what we came up with.
It is made from poplar. I like the broad color and grains of poplar and the ease of shaping was a big plus.
The joints are all hand cut half lap joints. The bead is made with a Stanley 45 with a 1/2” bead. Then, the corners were all give a strong 45 degree chamfer.
the twine strings were hung 6” apart with the top string down 3/4” from the top. All the artwork can not be hung with cloths pins.
