Nice looking rack. My wife and I also quilt for a hobby, don't laugh out loud I have a 2×4 close by and I know which end to saw. She's constantly after me to make her one. THeeNN she gives it away to a friend. OOOOHHHH. Great idea on the assy end and it's easy for her to put back together.

For many days I was looking for a suitable design for a quilt rack. Today I got it. Thanks for posting. Generally what is the height of a quilt rack?

Very nice rack Larry and welcome to LJs. I like the materials used and the tenons. Hardbroke, I used a plan from Wood to make one for a friend out of pine. The original called for much higher quality wood but I was able to make do with big store pine that was not so high quality. The example is here. Welcome also to LJs. I have only been here for a few weeks but have fallen in love with this site.

The height is right at 3'. This is a christmas present for the mother-in-law, so I am going to give it to her and let her pick the finish that she wants. The rack is only about 8" wide. I found that it tended to wobble, so I had to add the feet on the bottom. I glued up a couple pieces of 1" oak and made a big tenon and mortise joint for the feet.
