I wanted to know how the garry oak was going to react to machining before cutting the pieces for the display box for a knife, so I made a place to sit while at the workbench. It took longer to arrange all the pieces for the glue-up and keep them in place for clamping than it did to turn the legs and rungs and shape the seat!! That glue-up definitely would’ve resulted with getting a bar of soap thrust towards my mouth had my grandmother been visiting!

Very nice, I need to make me one of those… but not until my workbench is done!

Wow…great grain on that seat….very nice wood…and a great job overall.

I’ve been looking at yard sales for a barstool to use at my drafting table….and tall enough to sit at my bench…..I had not thought about making one…..yours is a great inspiration….and probably what I should have done in the first place….but with time being my scarcest commodity…I have had to decide if buying an item is not more time effective then making…

As for the language in the shop…LOL… grandparents would probably raise up from their graves and run out of soap if they heard what comes out of my shop sometimes…..I’m very glad my shop is detached from the house….and thank heavens for noisy machinery….LOL
