A box for cards

I am getting married at the end of the month and I was enlisted to come up with a solution for folks that may bring wedding cards to the reception. I built this box to essentially match my last project, the wine bottle box. The box is African Mahogany, and I used Padauk for the bottom for something different. The handle is made from two wine corks with a 3/8” walnut dowel running through the center for stiffness and form. I found the cork on the right with the “A” in it, which was a great coincidence as my fiance’s name is Allison so there is a little personal touch. The box is finished with 2 coats of danish oil. Hopefully the color will get a bit richer before now and May 29th but overall Allison loves it and that is all that matters!

Sorry- I forgot dimensions and will collect those soon.

Cheers!
Alex

May the good lord hold you and your lovely bride in the hollow of His hands for your lifetimes together.
