A tsuba is a Japanese sword guard – Charles Greene had a collection of tsubas and incorporated their shape in many of his designs. This table is my design using a modified tsuba shape for the top. The slide system is a very basic “beveled edge” system I found in “The Encyclopedia of Furniture Making” by Earnest Joyce.
Woods used are African Mahogany with Gabon Ebony details.

Very beautiful, and inspirational work-especially for us amateurs!
Now that I know where you’re located, I’ll make a point of visiting your shop the next time I’m in town visting my daughter in Kirkland.
Looking forward to the opportunity to attend one of your classes, time permitting.
