These bird houses are made from weathered barn siding, cypress or hemlock. The cypress and hemlock I get from “mushroom Growers” in our area. They use it as the beds where the mushrooms are grown in the mushroom house. Because of the constant moisture the wood deteriorates in a cool style. I have used it for over 45 years to make picture frames or any project I wanted a weathered look like wall paneling. This time I thought it would cool with this style Bird house. The other good thing these boards are trash until I pick them up. So at 66 years old you may see me rooting around in a dumpster salvaging some great finds.

Scarry beautiful bird houses – remind me on some horror movie houses – nice work.

That wood really sets off those houses for one really special look.

I did that circuit for a few years in the 1980’s on weekends and was part of a co-op in a mall. I am thinking about ESTY for the bird houses and cutting boards.

Have your say...
