Made as an 8th year anniversary gift for my wife. Year 8 gifts are bronze (traditional) or pottery (modern). I decided to combine both of them – the metal parts are bronze, and the candle holder itself is pottery, glazed with an aged bronze color. The wood is some old reclaimed mahogany that I have used for some other projects. Finish is a BLO/poly blend, applied very lightly.

The overall design is based on a MaFe design, although i adapted some parts a bit. Thanks, Mads, for a really great blog series on this, it helped a lot! I added some splines on the short grain edges, just to make sure things stay intact over time.

The candle holder itself is from Hillcraft Designs, and is beautiful.
