School Bookcase Style 2

Project by Chris Davis posted 269 days ago 560 views 0 times favorited 3 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is another school bookcases that I’ve been working on for the last couple weeks. Out of the 41 total this style makes up 6 of them. They are 32 1/2”h x 60”w x 12” deep. They have two adjustable shelves. It is wider then the last one that was posted, so I had to put a shelf stiffener on the back of each adjustable shelf to eliminate the sag problem. Like the last one, this on has little lip on the back side of the top. This would keep things from rolling off the back.

Here are some recorded videos of the build

Under the shelf there is a 2”-3” board turned 90 degrees. It is attached to the back edge of the shelf to keep it from sagging. This span was too long and if heavy things were place on it the shelf would bow in the middle. Here is a real handy calculator.
