I needed an appropriate home for a very cool, multicolored, motorized LED light bulb, so Disco Waver is the no-brainer solution. I’ve made wavers before, but this one was an exercise in taking as much “air” out of a project as possible—things just miss.

Multi-switching allows separate operation of the bulb and arms, a single 30-rpm motor runs the show, the gears are 50-year-old Lego 001’s, and the arms are my standard Home Depot paint-stirring sticks.

Pretty cool John. The night view reminds me of those waving hands the truckers used to put in their windshields.
