I made this miter sled a while ago but when posting my last project on the Pallet Wood serving trays I remembered I used this to cut the splines in the corners of the trays and thought I might post this also.

It’s made from 3/4” poplar plywood laminated together. The very thick back fence has the top cut at a perfect 45 and another 45 groove cut behind so I can use it to clamp material for cutting splines.

There is a T track that was cut into the fence so I could make and use some stop blocks for both repeatable cuts as well as for lining up where to cut the splines on all 4 corners of a box or tray.

After using it for a while I can say the ONLY thing I would change is to cut the top of the T track a bit deeper as the stops sometimes bind if I loosen them a little too much as the head tilts and gets wedged. other than that, I could not have asked for any more.

And if your interested, here is the build video

That’s pretty slick. The angled fence is an interesting feature that makes perfect sense.

Thanks for sharing.
