Tall Book Case
This Tall Book Case 10 feet tall was made for a Loft style condominium with Cream City Brick. I also included a pendant reading lamp that is adjustable for height. Features Glass split top and bottom doors with inside back lighting. Both the pendant reading light and inside back lighting are remote controlled for easy access.
Wood Used: Red Oak ¾ ply and with Oak Trim
The Tree is Quercas Rubra – Northern red oak is the largest group in this family and has the broadest distribution across North America. It has great commercial significance. The trees can grow to 150’ and 4’+ in diameter. There are many other varieties of red oak, Shumard, black, scarlet, water, willow, pin and nuttal oak, that grow in more select areas, but generally red oaks are broadly distributed across the United States and southeastern Canada
Build Process – Because I have limited hight in my shop I built this book case in 2 sections – top and bottom with identical foot prints.
Finished Used: Min Wax Stain Red mahogany and a second Black top coat.

Very handsome design and execution. The dark finish makes it a little difficult to make out the detail work in these pictures, but from what I can see it appears to be a great piece. Nice work!
