This desk is the same as the Mahogany one I made a couple years ago, just a little different size and made of Walnut with a maple inlay. There is inlay in the leg also. A piece like this is to showcase the unique configuration of walnut. The inlay pulls your eye to the desk top. As I stack lumber I mark ends of Matched cuts or pieces with a unique grain to use for tops or panels for doors. The process of making a piece starts when I stack the green lumber to dry.

Your desk is stunningly elegant. Everything about it is simply perfect.

As BurlyBob said, “Stunningly Elegant”. I love that maple inlay.

A table is on my to-do list. I plan to save this an use it as inspiration when I design what I want. Beautiful and elegant.

I like how you’ve taken a simple design and made it very distinctive! How handsome!
