This is an example of one of my first small boxes. It’s a jewelery box that I made as a wedding present for my niece. The wood is a combination of Australian and American wood.
The dark red wood is Jarrah from Western Australia, the lighter red wood is Tasmanian Myrtle. The blond coloured wood is Victorian Ash and the brown wood is American Walnut.
The finish is six coats of shellac.

What a nice piece, with beautiful woods. I am curious about the tools that you used to produce it in terms of hand tools vs. power.

Don great set of boxes. haven’t seen you much lately. Is it cooling down so you can get back to the shop. When are you coming to America and Canada?

With the shuffle I’m getting to see some projects over again.
Like I’ve always said, I like to see different woods blended together, very nice.
I hope it starts cooling down for you. We’re still waiting for warmth.
