Nothing says country like a hope chest made from cedar! This rail & stile chest frame is built from 8/4 cedar with 4/4 inset panels. Using #1 Common stock adds some rustic quality the client was looking for. And to top it all off with some varnish to ring out the rich color…my client will be much pleased indeed!

Thanks! After all, my motto is “build it as strong as a tank, but not quite as ugly.”

Beautiful chest indeed. Thanks to my last chest project and lot of comments, I know about American term hope chest. Turned I made the same but here it has different name.

You really did a nice job on this chest.

Very attractive, nothing like a cedar chest. The word cedar and chest always go together in history.
