I was visiting my grandma in Ohio and I had started a basswood carving of an owl. On that same trip I got a chance to visit the Warther Carving museum. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys carving to visit this museum. While there partially out of awe and respect for such awesome carving skills and partially out of need for a good carving knife, I got one of Warthers. I never did finish the basswood owl carving but I did finish this owl carving and hopefully it will make it to grandma by Christmas.

Pat, this is a nice carving. It has a lot of attention to detail and I am sure your grandmother will enjoy receiving it as a gift.
