Just finished up a 6 drawer dresser I have been chipping away at for the last month. It is a modern/contemporary style piece that is attached to the wall studs to create the float look.

The whole unit is made out of solid cherry wood that was gifted to me by my wonderful neighbor who had a stack of it just lying around in his garage for years. Some of the boards have amazing mineral staining going on as well as some pieces with sap wood.

I also used full extension blum soft close drawer slides which really add a touch of class and feel to it’s operation. I was going to put some modern style looking drawer pulls on it but so far I kind of like the flush drawer face look. Finish is 2 coats sealcoat dewaxed shellac and then about 5 coats of General Finish Satin Polyacrylic.

I like this a lot. very nice! Also the wall next to it, the floor, the trim, all very nice. Is all of this your handy work? And I like the artwork.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah it is all my handy work, thanks for noticing! The wall is African mahogany, baseboards and trim are curly maple. The floor I obviously didn’t make but I did install it myself which is acacia wood.

Russ, this looks great and it’s a real eye catcher.

I realy like it’s simplicity and straight lines without much details. Great floating effect.
