We were looking for a good color alternative to the lacewood we were using and decided to try padauk – This is a really beautiful colored wood – Box is made out of red oak and padauk, cornerpost dovetail. We were using just lindseed oil to finish and discovered that the padauk bleeds into the oak when oiled up – might try just the wipe on poly on the next one. Bookmatched on the top – really like the character of the oak – great wood to work with.. we are thinking of trying a padauk base on the next one.

Nice boxes… will be posting a few soon.. Xmas orders… If I make enough I might be able to get the Incra… here’s hoping.

I like your use of color, they set them off from others.

Those dovetails had me puzzled for a moment or two;) I like the look of the applied bottom. Very nice work. I also love Paduak.
