Chess Board

Board is made from Walnut and Maple. 16×16 square and is 1 1/4 thick.
Diamonds were incorporated on the sides to give the board that little extra.
I was routing the top with a chamfer bit and the very last pass, even with a backer board I had a corner blow out. If you look closely at the corners I got creative and used my disk sander to make an angled diamond. I’m going to use this design in a few of my other projects. Funny how things work out.
Wood working is easy its the mistakes that are a challenge.
Thanks for looking.

It looks great! My favorite part is how the chess squares and inlay precisely touch the maple corners. Perfect.

Nice save. Very innovative. Old saying comes to mind, The difference between a novice and a craftsman is that the craftsman knows how to hide his mistakes better.”

Looks great, and ditto what RogerM said.
