This little lidded vessel, or box, I like to call a cauldron : I think it would be a perfect place for the wife to store her eye-of-the-newt… ROFLMAO !!!!
5 1/2” round and 5 1/2” tall to top of finial. Bowl is sycamore, lid is a old wormy board from under my bench, oak I think..finial is some scrap pieces of left over walnut.
I am real happy with this bowl/vessel, but not too sure about the lid. Good thing is, I can always turn another lid.
After Christmas I plan on getting some hollowing tools….. Then watch me crank out these kind of vessels….
I tried something different on this one. As the bottom of the bowl was getting a little thin, I opted to fill the chuck recess with a disk of walnut for a little more strength, and it looks great. Might just be the way I go from now on.
Critiques welcome as always :
Thanks for looking…...............
