I built this island for my wife, who was saying there is not quite enough counter space in her kitchen.
It is all solid oak except for the horizontal surfaces that are a ramin (aka rubber) wood.

It is 24’’ x 24’’.. 36”“tall.
I stained the oak Minwax Early American and sprayed with a Deft semi gloss lacquer.

The ramin wood is Minwax Golden Oak, the contrast color looks ok but not quite what I wanted.

Nice island. Where did you get the rubber wood? Haven’t heard of it before.

That’s an awesome piece

Just added this to my favorites. Think I might make one for the wife and daughter. Great looking piece. Very creative. Yea, I’d like to know about the rubber wood? Please, mike.
