I’m taking a break from the serious woodworking and decided to make Christmas presents this year. There is a total of 20 marquetry pictures and frames.

The Lion size is 3/4” x 12”x 15” And the Cameo size is 3/4” x 8” x 10” I hope my family members will be happy with a hand made present. I think I would rather have something made by my kids then if they were to by me something.

Thanks for looking & I hope everyone here on Lumberjocks has a very merry Christmas.

Beautifully done, as all your work is. I especially love the lions. I for one would LOVE a handmade gift from such a master.

P.S.: I’ve been VERY good Santa!

dennis ,

these sure don’t look SERIOUS (HA!) ,
they look almost IMPOSSIBLE !

I’ve tried to do marquetry at times ,
only to rip and shred the veneer !

your work is outstanding .

happy holidays to you and yours also .

Incredible Dennis.

My wife said if your family doesn’t want them she has dibs on one of the lions.

Homemade gifts are the best. One year for my wife I just kept a daily journal and each day I wrote something to her and gave her the journal on Christmas Day.

Every year me and the kids have a contest to see which gift will make her cry. I won that year.

But enough about me, back to you. Would you consider selling a kit for that lion?

Take care,

Bothus

Hey Dennis, How have you been? I haven’t seen as much of your work lately. Everything going o.k.? Or just been to busy to post? What ever the reason,,, you got to knock that off, I need to see something of your work every day so get busy. L.O.L. I can’t believe that just by a picture the depth these have. It seems like you can just reach in and scratch that ol lion right on the head. Of course the women are beautiful but the last one,,, man I love the back ground you used on that one. Just blew me away. What kind of wood did you use for the back ground on that one? Thanks for sharing, Keep posting, can’t wait,, give me more.

Amazing work Dennis. Great idea for gifts. I think I may have to attempt some marquetry for future holiday gifts.

Also, do you know of any good web sites for learning how to do marquetry?

I’d rather have one of your handmade items that a store bought anything.

Great

L.O.L. Talking about Christmas presents,,, I’m a chess fanatic so if that chess table and chairs are in your way you could just send that over here. I’ve been a good boy all year. Well pretty good,, o.k. not that good but I still want it. L.O.L. Hope you and yours have a happy and safe holidays.
