Beer & Pretzels anyone?

I’ve made and sold several of the folding wine tables based on the design at woodworking for mere mortals. I was asked for a version for the beer and pretzels crowd. This is what I came up with.

The leg and hinge assembly are the same as the wine table but the tabletop is obviously different.

The large hole is 6” in diameter and the cup holes are 3 1/4” diameter. They have a cork lining to absorb condensation. The large hole will accommodate any bowl with a diameter smaller and larger than 6”. (Smaller to fit into the hole and larger to not fall through.) The pictured bowl is approx. 9 1/4” diameter at the top with an approx. 3 1/2” bottom.

This will also help me sell some of my Ringmaster bowls. Always a good thing.

Comments and critiques are always welcome. I would appreciate any ideas for changes to make this work better.

Thanx for looking.

I like it. I love the idea of the cork and the additional layer there for the deeper depth. I’ve ben thinking about/asked to do the same many times. I’ve been toying with the use of the pivot pin in the hinge as part of an assembly for a shelf for the drinks. Make the pin the length of the board and have a hole cut through the board that the drink bottom will rest on the pin. As soon as I have time I’m going to try that one out.
I really like the hole for the pretzel bowl!
