Anforte, I like your design on your fire wood box. Dovetailing the sides and back was a nice touch (both for strength and looks) Very well done.

Huff,

Thanks for your kind comments.
It was a change from restoring chairs, furniture and the like.

Wife thought I was too fussy for a common place box.

But these are the joys of doing things!

Very interesting idea. I never thought of something like that. We just moved to a place that has a fire place and it is new to us.

I like the idea of the grid. I might steal that part :)
Wood is our only source of heat so, the design of the wood box is important!
I’d like some place for kindling and paper too!

Kerux,

The idea came from a website that featured an all metal box.
It didn’t clearly show the grid arrangement so I improvised the wooden grid.

My son balked at the metal box price – over $100 so I used some scrap 3/4 plywood.
I think that’ll do the trick.

Thanks for your comment

The world is full of good ideas.
So I just incorporated them.
May your project be all that you desire.

I need a compact box for my house also. I really like this one. Gonna try it I think.

RexMcKinnon,

My son is enjoying the box I made.
It holds much more than the canvass holder he had.

All success as you work on yours.
