I know lots of you have been following the WIP of the buffalo box that I designed for my wife’s cousin in NC. After a few pattern changes and playing with different woods, here is the finished box minus the hinges, lining and another coat of finish.The box is walnut and the intarsia has 75 pieces from 12 different woods.The nickel shows the scale .I will continue to post WIP pics in the blog section to show how I got to this point.

Very nice, beautiful, job!!!!
But you could have used a Buffalo Nickel. 8^)

Mike, I love your box and the detail on your intarsia is beautiful. I haven’t had a chance to be on LJ’s very much the past few weeks, but I want to go back and follow your blog on making the box. Great Job.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will post some more WIP pics on my blog showing how to cut those itty- bitty pieces, the hinge install and lining the inside. This was the prototype—I still have 2 more to do.
