This project started back in November 2015, when I was visiting a sawmill out in Santa Barbara do Para, Brasil, and I found in the “junk pile” the piece that would be the top of the table.

When I picked up, I had no clue, what i was going to use it for, but i just could not leave it there.

I believe the top is Andiroba (Carapa guianensis) and the rest of the wood is Tigerwood. Please be aware that this Tigerwood is picked up also from a pile of wood that has been exposed to rain and sun for about 3 months and is being reprocessed to make stickers. I second quality, with some stains and sap, but still is very solid and looks good.

I am using tung oil on the finist, and still have to apply a bit more.

Good looking table, great save and better repurpose.
