Made this for my son years ago after his Walmart futon was thrown out after one year at college. This was my first woodworking project after not doing any for about 25 years. Had to relearn lots of things I had forgotten over the years. Mainly when cutting multiple parts for futon cut more than needed! You never know when parts that look good enough one day do not look good enough when looked at the next day! His Walmart futon was not abused, it was just cheap! IN the background you can see what our fireplace looked like for years before I built a mantle and surround for it

It sure doesn’t look like your first in 25 years!
A real nice looking project, keep it up!

that’s a mighty impressive project to undertake after 25 years of stagnation.
Looks pretty good. You must have had some really good skills back then.

Nice job.
