Side table with drawers

This is a side table that I have just finished up. My wife asked me to make it and she likes pine furniture, so that is what you see. It is finished with two coats of one # cut amber shellac and two coats of 3# cut clear shellac followed by Briwax light brown wax. The drawers were constructed using pinned rabbets. There are two secret compartments, but I cannot tell you how to access them for this reason: my wife is a puzzle addict and I have challenged her to find out how to access the compartments. She does look at LJ occasionally, and I do not want to take the risk of her finding the solution to opening the compartments on this site!!! And after all, if all of you folks knew, it would no longer be a secret. Ha.

Comments welcome.

Very nicely done, rowdy. I really like the look of pine, and especially knotty pine. The drawer fronts match perfect, and the stars for knobs is a nice twist. Look plenty stout. It’ll do the job!! If your wife is as good as mine on the puzzles, it won’t take her long to find the secret compartments. I always did like a challange.
Keep on keeping on.

Nice table.
Has a real provincial look.

Looks good. Let us know when your wife figures it out.

Rick, Les, Rex, Ms. Debbie, thanks for your comments. Some people like pine furniture and some don’t. I guess you must be in the camp that does. By the way, the secret remains a secret to this point!
