Artsy project from scraps

I was getting quite a pile of “leftovers” from my bowl making projects, and came across some artwork on pinterest that I liked. I figured I would use my scraps for something similar, and this was the result. I cut the pieces and did the decorating on a bandsaw and did the outside with a circle jig for my router.

There are a lot of different domestic and exotic hardwoods in this piece, with some dyed veneer on the inlay pieces. It is 34” in dia.

Realy beautiful piece of art and very well used different woods scraps. I saw lot of similar scrap projects and they are realy proof not to throw away anything.

Now that is a great way to use up scraps. Very cool looking.
