My version of the simple sled

As soon as I saw handymanDmitri’s simple sled I said ‘I have to make one of those, and the winter is almost here’.

I took some cutoffs from the gate and fence, a piece of 2×4 that was lying around, and a bunch of screws. Making it was really fun and I’m surprised about how good the gate I used for the fence/gate looks after fine sanding.

I’m trying with some melamine edge banding instead of the steel/aluminium sheet below the skis.

All is assebled with screws, I liked handimanDimitri’s idea of making it ready for any casual break. I guess I could be cutting the 2×4 at the rear and make something like a 2×3 if it gets stuck to easily in the snow. Screws will help with those thouchups.

Thanks for the inspiration Dimitri!

I have been looking for ideas on sleds for my grandson. This is simple and has a cool design. Thanks for sharing.

It’s very creative and nicely done and it looks like a great design.
