Thanks to this one: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/238282 I got inspired and made two of my own. I had no 1 inch dowel so I scaled up to 1.25 inch. Then I decided to try .75 inch thick flat and that worked great too! Everybody loves them, already had a dozen requests for more of them. Thanks for looking and thanks to mtairymd for the inspiration and guidance!

I’ve seen puzzles like this before where both sides of the block are hollowed out. One side has a solution and the other is slightly smaller and does not have a solution. You can show your friends how to solve the puzzle and then flip the block over without them knowing and watch them struggle to reproduce what they watched you do. When they can’t get it, pick the block up, mix up the pieces, and then set the block down on the correct side and show them again how it is done. Loads of fun when you have thrown back a drink or two.
