Custom Hunting Knife with Elk Shed Antler Handle, Ivory, Scrimshaw, and Hand-forged Damascus Blade

This knife was finished for a commission order in time for Christmas this year. The blade is handforged 160 layer Damascus by famed bladesmith Jerry Kennedy, while the handle is Kansas Elk antler.

The sculpted stand is Kansas Walnut.

I did the scrimshaw artwork of the Wolf on a piece of legal ivory I bought from the David Warther Museum. I inlay the ivory in the end of the handle, as the ivory is much better to scrimshaw than the natural antler material, which tends to allow the black scrimshaw ink to flow in a spider vein pattern, ruining the clarity of the artwork.
