So, my mother is having hip replacement surgery (tomorrow actually), and has some new furniture at home to accommodate recovery. Specifically, she has a new chair that sits up high. Unfortunately, these leaves her unable to reach her existing table in a comfortable and safe manner.

Luckily, I had some old kitchen table legs laying around that were the perfect height. Put a simple table top together with biscuits, stained the wood, and painted the legs, and we had a working hip replacement table. I’m not a big fan of this project, as there are a lot of little issues with it. Simply put, I rushed it, and it didn’t really turn out how I wanted. She likes it though, and it should serve its purpose for the three or four months it’s needed.

A good son, sometimes the best projects are those we toss together just to fix a problem. They may not always look the best but they are usually the most appreciated. Welcome to Lumber Jocks.
