Rustic Cedar MudRoom Bench I finished last night and delivered 5 hours roundtrip, today, to a rancher in West Texas. It is based upon a design I did a while back of a Garden Bench

http://lumberjocks.com/projects/15529

: except this time I made it 58 inches wide and 18 inches deep and extended the posts to incorporate two 6 foot coat/tack/gear racks built into the bench and left the front stretcher out. All dimensions are to outside edge of logs/posts. The idea was so you can come in take your boots off shove them underneath and hang your coat or tack on the hooks while doing so.

I used local cedar/juniper for the logs and Aromatic Red Cedar for the seat and left the natural edge on, I oiled the posts and used un-waxed shellac sealer and then Poly on the seat.

Thanks for looking…

ps: and yea that is our one and only store and mexican restaurant in this one horse town in the background of one of the pics :)

Thanx Dan…BTW did you ever make that cowhide chair or something you was going to make for your kin out of that cowhide scrap I sent ya, if you did I would like to see a pic of it, or one day be fine? Good to hear from ya..

Thanx Gage: Never thought of that idea about using those on a bed, good idea, I will keep that in mind…I did think about a secret compartment on the headboard post for a pistol though..hehe :)

Thanx Ya’ll…
