Target Stands

I made these to practice shooting in my back yard – running targets with my pellet gun is a lot cheaper than going to the range shooting off a few hundred rounds or more.

The target area themselves is 24×24”

The whole stand is made out of on hand 2×4 I had in stock.

The bases (picture 1) are not attached – these will be used in another upcoming project – I’m liking getting multi use out of things I make LOL

The backing for the targets is 1/2” insulation that I had used for HO train bedding – cut it up to fit and yet another re-use item :)

The targets are all free from the internet and just printed out to fit the whole page.

Cost for each – Free.

In actuality nothing is really free is it – I had to have bought the wood and stuff at some point, plus the cost of the screws and glue LOL.

Next project will use these bases – can’t wait to finish that hopefully later today

Once againg – it’s not pretty but it’s functional!

Nice job. They should work well. I had not thought of using the insulation for backing, I will have to try that. Reusing materials is always nice. Great project, thanks for sharing it.

We like using the same thing for target practice here. I setup in the back yard and we get in the porch swing. We call it, shooting practice while riding horseback. Making the shots are a timing thing. Best to shoot on the upswing :^)
