Shoes always pile up around my front door. Typically we stored them underneath the table you see in the first picture, but then after that got about 5 pairs there was no more room and next to the door they went (again) until we cleaned the house and put all our shoes in our closets.
I saw something similar to this on pinterest but mine needed to fit underneath the table you see in the first picture. Made with pallet wood and painted with window/door trim paint/primer I had laying around, then covered with poly. 18gauge brad nails and blue are all that are holding it in.
The center supports probably aren’t necessary, but in the event my daughter or son (or wife) try to climb on the rack when I am not looking I didn’t want it to break.
