JoeA posted a candle stick project yesterday, and it inspired me to go out and make one for the wife. That said, thanks Joe for posting the project.
I made the candle stick in such a way, that I can replace the stem. This way I can make multiple stems and bases, and SWMBO can mix and match the set however she like. So here is the first part of the set.
The wood on the base is walnut, and the stem is pecan(?). The finish is oil and wax, which I felt was faily appropriate for the applicaiton.

Very cool, simplistic design. Well done.
